Business Wire
HID Laboratories, a provider of intelligent high-intensity lighting solutions, has signed Green Energy USA of Bakersfield, a leading supplier of lighting and power management technology in California’s Central Valley, as a reseller of HID’s SmartPod™ Luminaire lighting system.

Businesses that will benefit most from this new energy-efficient lighting technology include major agribusiness companies, large-scale cold storage operations, warehouse facilities, mass merchandise retail outlets, manufacturing and industrial operations, as well as gymnasiums, auditoriums, arenas and convention centers.

"We are impressed with HID Labs' innovative ability to incorporate advanced computer controls into its lighting solutions," said Don Freeze, CEO of Green Energy USA. "The HID SmartPod system represents an entirely fresh approach to the challenges of reducing lighting energy consumption and cost. We are extremely pleased to partner with HID Labs to make SmartPod solutions available to businesses in Bakersfield, Kern County and the Central Valley."

HID smart lighting solutions replace environmentally unfriendly magnetic-core lighting technology with a more sustainable, longer-lasting solution. They include the SmartPod intelligent lighting platform, which delivers 15,000 more mean lumens per lamp than traditional metal halide fixtures and reduces energy consumption by up to 40 percent. The SmartPod allows for precise lighting control through advanced dimming, motion sensing, daylight sensing and zoning capabilities, and supports deployment of future lighting applications. HID intelligent lighting control platforms will enable customers to connect to the future smart grid planned by major utility companies.

"We are delighted to team with Green Energy USA to bring the HID SmartPod to the market," said Kurt Buecheler, vice president of sales and business development for HID Labs. "Our leading-edge approach to HID lighting delivers significant operational savings, with superb performance and unprecedented control for a wide range of applications. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership."
