Harry Laswell co-founded American River Ventures after working for 21 years inside one of the world's leading technology companies - Intel Corporation. Prior to American River Ventures, Harry was a Managing Director at Intel Capital, where he managed a team that invested over $200 million in 41 companies - -nine of these companies had successful IPOs. Before joining Intel Capital, Harry held marketing management and general management positions in a number of Intel business units. He was responsible for conceiving and launching new products that generated over $1 billion in annual revenues. While at Intel, he received the Intel Achievement Award, Intel's highest honor. He is also the recipient of a US patent.
In addition to his passion for developing new technologies, Harry enjoys working with portfolio companies on their go-to-market strategies. He helps companies identify key markets and target customers and guides them through the challenges of getting customers to adopt new technologies.
Harry's current board memberships include SynapSense, Triformix, and board observer of WiSpry. He also serves as a board member for UC Davis CONNECT.
In his spare time, Harry works to improve K-12 education, which he believes is critical to maintaining a healthy US economy. He has served as a trustee of two private K-12 schools for over ten years and as an advisor to the Rudolf Steiner Foundation in supporting the growth of the Waldorf School movement. He is also an avid fly fisherman, traveling the world in search of new fishing challenges. Harry holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Missouri and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Chicago.
